Why we have regrets.

Laura, Sidney, Brianna and Susanna, who could not see me approaching them to take their photo through their eclipse glasses, making the overall encounter somewhat awkward.

Usually, Saratoga is the place to be. But at 3:26pm on Monday, April 8, 2024, I really wished I wasn’t in Saratoga.

I’d known about the solar eclipse coming to upstate New York for months, and even wrote a story detailing everything people needed to know about the once-in-a-lifetime celestial occurrence. I knew Saratoga wasn’t in the path of totality, I knew it wouldn’t get totally dark here, and yet…I stayed.
