The Inside Scoop on 6 New Saratoga Restaurants
Mittler's Restaurant finally opens its doors, Omakase sets an opening date, 3 new Phila Street restaurants eye winter openings, and a preview of the fast casual joint coming soon to an unlikely spot.
At long last, the restaurant portion of Mittler’s Restaurant and Market is open. Service began at 4pm yesterday, and by 4:15, the bar was nearly full with customers eager to check out the long-awaited space. For the inaugural happy hour, owner Steve Mittler churned out some complimentary appetizers—including pretzel bites with beer cheese dip, avocado toast, deviled eggs and charcuterie—and customers sipped on everything from Modelo to Cosmos. (Saratoga Report’s Dan De Federicis was spotted at the end of the bar slurping a bourbon and Coke that packed a punch.) But Mittler’s is only the first of several new restaurants coming soon to Phila Street and beyond. Here’s what we know. Spoiler: It involves crab rangoon grilled cheese.
