When you get out of your car at The Lodge at Schroon Lake, a brand-new, year-round resort coming to the Adirondack town off exit 27 this June, the first thing you notice is the quiet. Maybe it was just because I was there in late March, long before the peak summer season, but something told me that the 36-acre compound on a hill overlooking a lake largely untouched by the tourism industry maintains that sense of “aaaah” all year round.
