On Deck: The Holidays Are Here
A shop-small promo and Nutcracker Tea at the Canfield Casino help kick off the most wonderful time of the year in Saratoga.

What’s better than unlimited chips and salsa and a margarita? Unlimited chips and salsa and a margarita—for a cause! When you dine at Cantina this Wednesday, 33 percent of your bill will be donated to Saratoga Children’s Theater, an organization that aims to instill a lifelong love of performing arts into the local community.
Friday, November 16
You’ve heard of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday…But what about Pink Friday? In the same vein as Small Business Saturday, Pink Friday is a pre-Thanksgiving initiative to #ShopSmallFirst—before the hoopla surrounding Black Friday deals even rolls around. In Saratoga, you can participate in a four-store Pink Friday Boutique Crawl; stop by Bella V Boutique, Lucia Boutique, Lex & Cleo Boutique and Bobbles & Lace for a chance to win a giveaway, and then top off the evening with a signature Pink Friday cocktail at Lucy’s Bar!
This Friday also marks the kick-off of Skidmania, a music festival put on by Skidmore students and faculty previously known as Beatlemore Skidmania. Last year, the event was transformed to incorporate songs by artists other than The Beatles, and this year’s Skidmania ’73 will celebrate the music of 50 years ago including tunes by Aerosmith, Stevie Wonder and Bob Marley. Both Friday and Saturday shows are $20 for the general public (with proceeds going to charity) and kick off at 8pm.
Saturday, November 18
Saratoga’s biannual comic con returns to the Saratoga City Center this weekend for two days of cosplay, celebrity meet-and-greets, exhibitors, panels and game tournaments. This weekend’s guests include actor Eric Roberts (The Expendables, Heroes, The Dark Knight) and Patricia Summersett, the first official voice of Princess Zelda in Nintendo video games. On the schedule? A cosfight fencing class, fandom karaoke, and an after-hours cosplay dating game.
Sunday, November 19
The holiday season officially arrives in Saratoga this Sunday, when Saratoga Springs Youth Ballet presents two showings of the Nutcracker Tea at the Canfield Casino at 11am and 3pm. In addition to the performance, the event will be highlighted by delicious treats, local vendors, a silent auction and, yes, tea.
