On Deck: Fourth of July Edition
Saratoga's All-American Celebration, three Live Nation shows at SPAC and more.
Wednesday, July 3
What’s more American than seeing country/bluegrass/folk artist Tyler Childers at SPAC? The artist is bringing his Mule Pull tour, with special guests S. G. Goodman and Wayne Graham, to the venue this Thursday at 7pm. Tickets, starting at $67 for the lawn, are still available.
Thursday, July 4
You don’t need to be on a boat to celebrate the 4th of July in style. Saratoga’s All-American Celebration returns this Thursday, kicking off with the Firecracker 4 road race at 9am. Now in its 18th year, the Firecracker 4 is the northeast’s largest Independence Day race that regularly draws more than 2,500 runners. Sign up for the four-mile race, which starts at the City Center and features live music all along the course, and bring the little ones to run in the .2-mile Sparkler Fun Run.
After the Firecracker 4, head directly to Kindred, which is hosting the official post-race brunch party. The Henry Street restaurant will be serving up wood-fired hot dogs, smash burgers, chicken and waffles and breakfast sandwiches, plus bottomless mimosas, beers and much, much more. Kindred’s All-American Brunch starts at 10am.
The festivities continue with the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge’s Annual Flag Day Parade, which was moved to July 4 from its normal date in June. The 54th annual parade will march down Broadway to Congress park from 5-7pm.
Grab dinner at The Wishing Well, which is hosting a special 4th of July Barbecue complete with St. Louis BBQ ribs, fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and watermelon—all for just $29 per person. (Dine in or take out available.) Afterwards, head back downtown for a free, outdoor Tops of Trees concert outside of the City Center on Ellsworth Jones Place. The eight-piece rock and soul ensemble will take the stage at 7:30pm. Stick around for the fireworks show on the roof of the City Center garage at 9pm!
Friday, July 5
Dave Matthews returns for his band’s annual two-night run at SPAC this Friday and Saturday. Saratoga loves DMB so much that these two days of the year have been dubbed by locals as Fridave and Saturdave. Both shows start at 7:30pm.
Sunday, July 7
The Saratoga Summer Concert Series kicks off this Sunday in Congress Park with a performance by Nocturne Troubadors at 7pm. The free, family-friendly concert series—a program of the Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitors Center, Discover Saratoga and the City of Saratoga Springs—runs on Sundays and Tuesdays through the end of August at the War Memorial in the park. Don’t forget your blanket and/or chairs!
