If you’ve been too busy to plan what to do with your kids this mid-winter break, our public library has you covered. Their events kick off today with Pet Portraits, a celebration of Love Your Pet Day. Bring in a photo of your pet between 10 and 11am, and the library will provide the supplies to decorate it. Finished portraits can be displayed in the Children's Room. Additional events throughout the week include Teen Crafternoon: Bracelet Making, Baby Bounce and Magic Paper Flashlight Craft.

Your mornings with the littles will be completely covered if join Paint & Create Kids Camp! This special vacation edition runs from 9am to 12pm Wednesday and Thursday, and includes art instruction, fun activities and crafts for ages 6 and up. Days are purchased separately; activities and projects will vary each day. Cost includes all materials and instruction.
Want a behind-the-scenes look at this historic 2024 Belmont Stakes in Saratoga? Work the four-day festival in positions such as betting clerk, white cap/user, cashier, hospitality, parking and concierge. To apply, hit up the job fair (267 Union Avenue—entrance is off Wright Street at Gate 8) from 2pm to 6pm and head straight to the Integrated Staffing table.
Hope you have your song ready, because Red Spruce is hosting a bluegrass jam at Caffè Lena. This month’s jam will kick off with Red Spruce playing a few tunes before opening up the floor. Expect an evening of grass and folk favorites, backed up by other pickers in the gathering. Pro tip: Simple tunes are always popular! All are welcome, and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Arthur Zankel Music Center’s Tsou Music Scholar Lecture Series brings Dr. Samantha Ege into its spotlight for South Side Impresarios: How Race Women Transformed Chicago's Classical Music Scene. Combining a mix of lecture and piano performance, Dr. Ege brings the story of the South Side impresarios to life, delving into the ways that Chicago's early 20th century Race women (Black women intellectuals and creatives committed to racial uplift and gendered progress) operated out of their South Side base to shape a new vision for classical music that transformed the city—and beyond. (6-8pm)

If this mild winter has left you wanting more, embrace the cold and head to Bailey's Ice Bar February 23-24. This year’s theme is The Great Gatsby, so get those flapper dresses and bow-ties ready. There will be giveaways, a photo booth, specialty drinks, and games/raffles (win Buffalo Bills tickets!) during both nights.
Gather your favorite lost boys and head to the Spa Little Theater for the premiere of Home Made Theater’s Peter Pan. Show starts at 7:30pm. If you can’t make opening night, the all ages musical runs for two weeks.

…Then head over to the City Center at noon to attend the 2024 Saratoga Beer Week: Saratoga Beer Summit. Think: more than 100 craft beers, hard seltzers and ciders to try, plus live music and tons of food.

After Beer Week, cleanse the palate with Harvey’s, which is hosting an opulent Whiskey Pairing Dinner at 5pm or 7:30pm. The seven-course dinner, prepared by chefs Colin Miner (Farmacy) and Alex Johnson (Hamlet & Ghost), will feature whiskey pairings by Old Forester from the esteemed brand’s "Whiskey Row" series.
