On Deck
This week in Saratoga: a group medium reading, a historic homes tour and Mother's Day festivities.
Every May, Saratoga’s social calendar starts to pick up again. Buckle up, Saratoga: the summer season starts now.
Wednesday, May 10
Saratoga Living’s popular Cocktails & Clairvoyance group medium reading returns to the Gideon Putnam—this time with a new psychic medium. Enjoy a complimentary cocktail and hors d’oeuvres from 6-7pm before Christine Seebold-Walrath takes the stage at 7 to help audience members connect with loved ones who have crossed over. A limited number of tickets are still available.
Thursday, May 11
Soroptimist Saratoga’s beloved Secret Garden Tour doesn’t begin until July 9, but the organization is teaming up with Sunnyside Gardens to host a Secret Gardens Tour Kickoff Party this Thursday at the Church Street garden store. Free and open to the public, the event will include light fare, wine, raffles, music by Phil Drumm and shopping (Mother’s Day is just around the corner!).
Friday, May 12
While A Southern Opus, the next installment of SPAC’s CulinaryArts@SPAC series, is sold out, you can still add your name to the waiting list for this Friday’s culinary experience with Hattie’s Executive Chef Mark Graham. Chef Graham will honor the tradition of Hattie’s while pushing the southern cooking envelope with vibrant, New Orleans–inspired fare.
Saturday, May 13
On this day last year, Saratoga Living After Hours proved that you can make it to every single social event of the summer when we covered five not-to-be-missed Spa City happenings in one day. This year, all but one of the events is back (Saratoga Comic Con was held this past weekend, if you didn’t see the hordes of dressed-up revelers spill onto the streets when the fire alarm went off Sunday):
Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation’s Historic Homes Tour
Saratoga Automobile Museum’s Spring Auto Show
Discover Saratoga’s Third Annual Bloody Mary Fest
The Wesley Foundation’s Enchanted Evening Gala
Sunday, May 14
If you’re looking for a special way to treat mom (or yourself, if you are a mom!) this Sunday, head directly to brunch at the Brook Tavern, which will be serving a special Mother’s Day brunch menu highlighted by Bananas Foster French Toast, Crab Cake Benedict and Baked Ham. But beware—some moms don’t want to go to brunch with their families on Mother’s Day.
