Brooks’ BBQ Fundraiser: Skip the dinner planning this Friday and head to Saratoga Springs High School to pick up a chicken dinner by Brooks’ BBQ. The best part? You’ll be supporting the Saratoga Schools Education Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the Saratoga Springs City School District in part by awarding grants to educators who demonstrate a passion for enhancing student achievement. Meals will be available for pickup between 2:30–5:30pm.
Saturday, May 24
Art in the Park: Saratoga Arts’ annual art fair returns to Congress Park on Saturday from 10am–4pm. Stop by any time to peruse work in a variety of genres by artists from near and far. There’ll also be live music, artist demos, and more. Rain date: May 31.
Memorial Day Ceremony: On Saturday at 11am, the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville will hold its 25th annual Memorial Day Ceremony featuring a keynote address by Ret. Lt. Col. Jamie Cox, a 20-year Marine Corps naval aviator veteran. Come for the moving speech and stay for the more than 50 American flags that line the cemetery entrance, as well as the flags that honor each veteran gravesite.
New York Voices: One of the most exciting vocal ensembles in contemporary jazz is stopping by Universal Preservation Hall this Saturday night at 7:30pm.
