Symptoms include: Loss of inhibition, careless displays of groove induced happiness, feverish outbreaks of funky fires and decadent desires.” Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 day of show.

A brand-new fundraiser is coming to the Spa City this Friday. Be one of the first to experience Summer SPACtacular, the performing arts organization’s inaugural season kick-off fundraiser on the SPAC stage. The immersive evening will feature a create-your-own-adventure experience, live music, dancing, cocktails, culinary delights and fireworks, and will help support SPAC’s mission, residencies and youth education initiatives. Return to SPAC Sunday at 2pm for the annual Festival of Young Artists, celebrating the Capital Region’s brightest young actors, dancers, musicians, singers, poets and visual artists.

Another inaugural event is going on this Saturday: Join Whitman Brewing and 18 other local breweries for Pride Fest, a beer fest celebrating Pride Month going on in the Whitman parking lot. Sample beers from participating breweries, listen to live music by Sam Luke, Grape Juice!, and Yort, and enjoy free Detroit-style pizza from Whitman. Oh yeah, and puppies from Lucky Puppy Rescue will be there too. Tickets are $35 and $20 for designated drivers.
Meanwhile, a very different type of event will be happening at the BOCES campus on Henning Road. Register the whole fam for the 10th annual TUFF-eNuff Obstacle Course Challenge hosted by the Prevention Council. The challenging course pushes only the toughest kids and adults to their limits, over hurdles, under obstacles and through mud pits. The kids one-mile run begins at 8:30am, with the teen and adult 5K kicking off at 9:15am.
