If you missed the first night of the 102nd Saratoga Sale at Fasig-Tipton last night, there’s still time to catch the annual horse auction—and the party surrounding it—tonight. Hundreds of horse sellers, buyers and spectators will descend upon the East Ave auction house to see some of horse racing’s most promising prospects change hands, all way enjoying a drink (or five). The Saratoga Sale is free and open to the public and begins at 6:30pm.
Alternatively, you can catch O.A.R. and the Goo Goo Dolls at SPAC as part of the co-headliners’ Big Night Out Tour. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Tickets start at $41.80.

The Philadelphia Orchestra’s annual residency at SPAC is in full swing. On this week’s calendar? Beethoven’s Seventh on Wednesday, An Evening with Audra McDonald on Thursday, Rachmaninoff at 150 on Friday, and Rite of Spring & Blessed Earth on Saturday. Meanwhile, up the Northway in Lake George Village, even more music is being made by world-renowned performers this month. The official kickoff to the Lake George Music Festival is a performance by the Festival Symphony Orchestra at Shepard Park beginning at 7:30pm on Wednesday. More interested in dancing to music than just listening to it? Join Saratoga’s newest dance studio in celebrating its grand opening! Dance Fire Studio, located at 36 Phila Street will host a ribbon cutting and open house event, complete with a Champagne toast, giveaways and dancing, on Friday at 11am. (Mayor Ron Kim even declared August 11, 2023 as “Dance Fire Day” to commemorate the occasion.) For even more dancing, return to the studio at 7pm for The Ultimate 1980s Dance Party; dance hosts will be on hand to guide and inspire seasoned dancers and beginners alike. Tickets are $50. And if making music is your thing, you can’t miss the Northeast Guitar Expo at the Saratoga City Center on Sunday. The region’s largest guitar show, the expo will feature a great line-up of electric and acoustic builders, vintage dealers and guitar gear exhibitors. Admission is $10 cash at the door.
Finish off your wild week of music at SPAC—Zac Brown Band will perform Sunday evening with special guests Marcus King, Tenille Townes and King Calaway.
