Tchaikovsky Spectacular: This week kicks off the Philadelphia Orchestra’s annual Saratoga residency at SPAC. On Wednesday, Conductor David Robertson will lead the Orchestra in beloved Tchaikovsky pieces including “1812 Overture,” and the evening will culminate in a brilliant fireworks display. Also this week at SPAC: Rhapsody in Blue Celebrates 100 on Thursday, Angélique Kidjo’s African Symphony on Friday, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in Concert on Saturday.
Casamigos for Jocks and Horses: Join members of the horse racing world as they come together for an event to benefit Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation at The Adelphi Hotel on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm. GA ticket holders will receive a signature drink and hors d’oeuvres, while VIP ticket holders will go home with a bottle of Casamigos tequila signed by the Saratoga jockey colony.
Christmas in July: On Wednesday, Whitman Brewing will host its free Christmas in July event all day long (noon-10pm). Stop by any time for drink specials, and from 6:30-9:30pm for festive live music by Whiz Bang. Don’t forget to don your gayest apparel—there will be prizes for the most festive dressed!
Saratoga Hospital Gala: One of Saratoga’s biggest fundraising events of the year, the Saratoga Hospital Gala raises money for the hospital’s Community Health Center, which provides high quality primary care, dental, behavioral health, and addiction medicine services to members of our community, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. This year’s garden party–themed gala will kick off with an open bar and food stations at the Saratoga Casino Hotel polo field on Wednesday at 6pm.

Jockeys vs. Horsemen Charity Basketball Game: The New York Racetrack Chaplaincy’s annual charity basketball game that pits Saratoga jockeys against trainers returns to the Saratoga Rec Center on Thursday. Admission is free (though donations are encouraged), and tip-off is at 7pm.

Whitney Day: This Saturday, the Grade 1 Whitney Stakes returns to Saratoga Race Course. To celebrate, NYRA is teaming up with breast cancer nonprofit To Life! to host a Best in Pink fashion photo contest from 1-3pm at the Jockey Silks Porch.
The Foundation Experience: If you missed out on the mysterious inaugural Foundation Experience, you’re in luck. The fundraiser for Saratoga Arts returns this Saturday at 7pm for an evening of food, drink and live performance. As always, expect the unexpected.
Sip, Savor and Swirl: Does wine make you want to dance? On Saturday at 7:30pm, NACRE Dance Group will sashay into Universal Preservation Hall for Sip, Savor and Swirl, a one-of-a-kind experience in which wine is paired with live performance. Travel through the world of wine as you experience dances inspired by the very vino you’re sipping.

The Saratoga Sale: After watching some of the world’s top racehorses compete in the Whitney on Saturday, you can see the next generation of Thoroughbred greatness on display at Fasig-Tipton’s much anticipated Saratoga Sale. The sale, which kicks off at 6:30pm on August 5 and 6 at the Humprey S. Finney Pavilion, is free to attend, whether you’re in the market for a horse or a good time.
