On Deck
SantaCon returns, holiday brunch at Saratoga Arms and more festive Spa City happenings.
Wednesday, December 13
Missed Michael Mills’ first magic show at Caffe Lena last month? Catch the owner of The Misfit there again this Wednesday for Fool Me Once, a 14-and-up tour of contemporary trickery. Tickets are $21.30 and the show starts at 7pm.
Before the show, grab an early dinner at Cantina, which will be donating 50 percent of all profits—including dine in, take out and drinks at the bar—to Jake’s Help From Heaven, a Saratoga-based organization that provides assistance to individuals with multiple medical challenges and disabilities. To learn more about Jake’s Help From Heaven and its namesake, check out our 2020 Capital Region Gives Back feature on founder Heather Straughter. Expect Cantina to be busy—reservations recommended!
Thursday, December 14
Give yourself the gift of opportunity this holiday season! You never know who you’ll meet at the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce’s annual holiday mixer, which will take over The Parting Glass this Thursday from 4:30-7:30pm. Guinness, Irish-inspired food and networking await. Tickets are $10 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members.
Saturday, December 16
Calling all Saratoga Santas! This Saturday is the Spa City’s annual SantaCon, a pub crawl in which Santa suit–clad revelers take to the streets for an afternoon of day-drinking for a cause. One hundred percent of your $15 ticket will go directly to Franklin Community Center (a 2023 Capital Region Gives Back beneficiary). Get your ticket online, and register between 1-3pm at The Soundbar or Harvey’s.
Sunday, December 17
Part of Saratoga Arms’ grand 25th anniversary celebration earlier this fall was the announcement of a slate of holiday events for locals. One such event is this Sunday’s fine-dining, farm-to-table, holiday-themed brunch featuring signature breakfast dishes, cocktails and more. Reservations are available from 10am-2pm.
After brunch, head to the YMCA for the Snowman Spin-a-thon, a stationary bike “race” that will raise money to start a cycling program in the PE department of Maple Ave Middle School.
