Two beloved Saratoga bars are teaming up with the Saratoga Springs Fire Department to host the inaugural Trackside Trot for Autism Awareness. No, it’s not a 5K. Rather, the day kicks off with brunch at Kings at 10am, with “trots” to the Horseshoe at 1pm and 1:30pm. Live music begins at the ’shoe at 2pm. The event is free to attend and will include a silent auction, raffle baskets, local vendor booths, a dunk tank, a cornhole tournament and giveaways. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Tiny Hands Academy in Glens Falls.
Celebrate Earth Week by volunteering for the 10th annual Tree Toga, Sustainable Saratoga’s annual tree-planting initiative going on this Saturday morning. Sign up to be a tree planter or event staff for this weekend’s event, or as a tree caregiver (someone who cares for a young tree throughout the year) or tree host (to host a new tree on your property as part of 2025 Tree Toga planting).
Gansevoort’s Grant Cottage opens for the season this Saturday on what would be Ulysses S. Grant’s 202nd birthday. Also on the agenda: something sweet to celebrate the 18th president’s birthday (while supplies last) and a special showing of a new Grant biographical film. Grant Cottage programs and access to the site are free.
