Tuesday, February 17
The Black Woods: In honor of Black History Month, the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation will host a conversation between Samantha Bosshart, the organization’s executive director, and Amy Godine, author of The Black Woods: Pursuing Racial Justice on the Adirondack Frontier, on Tuesday at 7pm. The hybrid online/in-person event will explore the history of Black pioneers who migrated to the Adirondacks from the late 1840s through the 1860s and will ask the question: What does historic preservation look like when the physical spaces and places have disappeared?
Friday, February 20
Bailey’s Ice Bar: The theme of this year’s ice bar at Bailey’s is Pirate Takeover, so gather your best scallywags and come ready to shiver your timbers. Expect drink promos, shot skis, games, and raffles, all in the name of raising money for Blood Cancer United.
Dead Man’s Waltz: Specializing in classic songs by The Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers Band, and The Band, Dead Man’s Waltz is a staple of the Northeast’s festival scene. The all-star collective is touching down at Putnam Place this Friday for a night of unexpected arrangements and improvisations of the songs you know and love. Doors are at 7:30pm and the show starts at 8:30pm.
The Crucible: Arthur Miller’s classic play about the Salem Witch Trials comes to the Saratoga Music Hall stage beginning this Friday at 7pm. Put on by Saratoga’s own Home Made Theater, the show will run through March 1.
Saturday, February 21
Saratoga Beer Summit: An afternoon of sampling the top craft beverages in upstate New York awaits at the Saratoga Beer Summit, returning to the Saratoga City Center on Saturday. Choose from one of two three-hour sessions (1–4pm and 5–8pm) or splurge on an early-entry ticket to get in at noon. For a full list of participating breweries, cideries, and more, click here.
Sunday, February 22
Saratoga Record Riot: On Sunday from 10am–4pm, head back to the City Center for Record Riot, an event in which you can dig through tables upon tables of LPs, CDs, and 45s brought in by dealers from all over the Northeast.
National Margarita Day: In case you didn’t already know, February 22 is National Margarita Day, and Mexican Connection is prepped and ready. Stop by the trackside restaurant for margaritas made with your choice of 150 tequilas, specials, and giveaways.
Ladies Karaoke Brunch: Brunch isn’t the only thing on the table at Fillies on Phila this Sunday…Stop by from 11am–3pm for French toast with a side of song. The bottomless mimosas will be flowing as Cole King hosts this midday karaoke party.
