Like we mentioned last week, we’re taking a break from Game Time to bring you a new type of Tuesday morning post. (Game Time may be back—don’t worry, wordplay lovers!) Today marks the first edition of “On Deck” a calendar of top events for the week. For now, On Deck is free. In the future, it may not be. If you haven’t upgraded to a paid SLAH subscription yet, please consider doing so—your $5 a month goes a long way toward keeping our local media company afloat. That, and, you’ll never run into one of those pesky paywalls again!

Experience the auto museum in a different way—after dark! (This is Saratoga Living After Hours, after all.) Tomorrow’s Night at the Museum event, going on from 6-8pm, includes a private tour of the Bond in Motion exhibit, James Bond trivia, light refreshments and a cash bar. Tickets are $10 for museum members and $20 for the general public. If you can’t make it tonight, mark your calendar—Nights at the Museum are the last Wednesday of every month.

George Washington & Saratoga: It’s Complicated
Get your weekly dose of history this Thursday from 7-8:30pm at the Saratoga History Museum. There, local writer JPV Oliver, Gent (who recently shared a tale of a memorable interaction with Marylou Whitney in Saratoga Living) will reveal a George Washington you didn’t learn about in school—one who had two, yes, complicated, bump-ins with the Spa City. This event is free for museum members and $10 for the public.

God Is a Scottish Drag Queen at Universal Preservation Hall
If the name of this one-man stand-up comedy show didn’t hook you, let us explain. In the critically acclaimed show, celebrated by preachers and atheists alike, God (a.k.a. Canadian comedian Mike Delamont) comes down to set the record straight and expound on everything from Noah’s Ark to Star Wars and answer humankind’s most asked questions. Tickets start at $25.50.
Saturday, April 29
Tree Toga
Sustainable Saratoga’s annual tree-planting event is back, and you can be a part of improving the Spa City’s urban forest. The Saturday morning event kicks off with a tree-planting session at Pitney Meadows Community Farm at 9:30am, after which teams of planters will be dispersed to 38 planting locations throughout the city. Sign up as a volunteer here.
