Even under construction, The Lodge at Schroon Lake was a place I knew I wanted to stay at someday. I visited the resort for a tour back in March, when the pool was just a big hole in the ground and I needed a hard hat to go into the onsite Brown Swan restaurant. Somehow I let the entire summer and fall slip away without going back—The Lodge officially opened its doors in June—but I finally got there for a mini vacation the Monday after Thanksgiving.
