How to Celebrate Twosday in the Capital Region
Tuesday, 2/22/22 is big day, especially for the vegans among us.
If you haven’t written the date yet today, let us fill you in on a little secret: It’s Twosday. Yes, it’s a Tuesday, but it’s also February 22, 2022, a.k.a. 2/22/22, a.k.a. a numerologist’s dream. Sure, we’ll have another 2/22/22 again in 2122, and again in—yes—2222, but 1. Neither of those are a Tuesday and 2. Only a very slim few of us who are old enough to remember Twosday will be around for the 2122 date, and we’ll all be long gone by 2222. In other words, this is pretty much more exciting than Pi Day circa 2015, when the world (me, a math major at the time, included) celebrated two pi moments—9:26am and 9:26pm—when the date and time depicted the first eight digits of math’s most infamous constant. (That’s 3.1415926, for the non-math majors among us.)
Having celebrated 3/14/15 with—what else?—a pie, I wondered what the official food of Twosday should be. A double cheeseburger? A two-na fish sandwich? Or just two of everything? Ruby Tuesday will unveil a new menu and offer $2 margs, domestic draft beers and more, but you’ll have to make the drive to Amsterdam or Windsor Locks, CT, the two locations within 100 miles of Saratoga, if you want in on that. And wouldn’t you rather support a local restaurant anyway? Then it hit me like a block of extra-firm tofu.
