When October 31 falls on a Thursday, every night becomes Halloween.

“There were so many possible days to celebrate that people didn’t know when to dress up,” my friend Maddy told me. “But then there are costume connoisseurs like me and Kate that celebrate every day.”

Indeed, Maddy and our other friend Kate made Halloween a four-night fiasco, celebrating at DIVE’s costume karaoke last Friday, on Caroline Street Saturday, at a Saratoga Arts event Wednesday and back on Caroline Thursday. They called it quits before this weekend (there are only so many Disney villains worth dressing up as), but they could’ve easily kept the costume train going. “I saw people on social media that were like, ‘OMG, people went out for Halloween last weekend? I was planning on this weekend,’” Maddy said. “So it’s probably not even over yet.”

Indeed, last night was Coat Room’s masquerade ball (more on that next week) and tonight The Misfit is hosting a Halloween party.
