My friend Ben and I don’t have diets that typically overlap—at the sand volleyball tournament we both played in on Saturday, he had chicken wings for lunch while I snacked on the chickpea salad sandwich I’d made myself the night before. But as we continued playing in the unrelenting sun of the afternoon, we both had our sights set on the same thing: Our dinner reservation at Standard Fare.
